Using the site

EnergyPips is free to use for personal, non-commercial enjoyment. No account is required. You may not use automated systems to scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for other people, attempt to bypass technical restrictions, or republish the puzzle boards in bulk as your own.

Ownership

The puzzle generator, the boards it produces, the site design and the written content are the property of EnergyPips. You are welcome to share links to individual puzzles, quote short passages with attribution, and screenshot a board for personal or social use.

The rules of the format are not claimed by us and cannot be — game mechanics are not protected by copyright. We claim only our specific boards, code and words.

No affiliation

EnergyPips is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to The New York Times Company or any other puzzle publisher. Any third-party names that appear on this site are used descriptively, to explain what this site is and is not, and remain the trademarks of their respective owners.

Provided as-is

The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We work hard to ensure every published board is solvable and every rule description is accurate, and we fix reported errors, but we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your saved progress will persist — browser storage can be cleared by your browser at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EnergyPips and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including lost puzzle progress. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only to the extent permitted.
